Cybercrime: Less than 50% cases solved in 2018

Hyderabad: In 2018, there has been a upward push in cybercrime circumstances in Hyderabad, but lower than 50% were solved. Police stated that for the previous three years, circumstances of cybercrime have been rising. “In 2016, cybercrime police recorded 288 circumstances. This number rose to 325 in 2017 and, this 12 months, till December 13, 410 circumstances were recorded,” stated Anjani Kumar, commissioner of police, Hyderabad. Till December 13, cybercrime police have arrested 212 accused, including nine foreigners.

Crimes related to Facebook and different social media has also risen from 29 circumstances in 2017 to 45 in 2018. “Hyderabad is emerging as an IT hub, and many people have moved right here for jobs. As such, crimes have also larger. Job frauds and hacking circumstances have long gone up.
