NAGPUR: MahaMetro officials worry that they may not have the ability to meet the target of completing Nagpur Metro by December 2019 due to issues in Reach 2 (Sitabuldi to Automotive Square). The Metro company is construction the construction on behalf of NHAI. Work on the flyover has started but is progressing at a sluggish tempo on one finish. MahaMetro has already spent Rs100 crore on the Rs750 crore flyover but NHAI is yet to pay a unmarried penny.
Land acquisition is the most important hurdle in building of the four.five kilometre long flyover. “MahaMetro wishes about four,000 square metre land near Gaddigodam Square for building of the ramp of the construction. As per NHAI norms, the company does not gain land inside municipal limits. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) used to be requested to bear the price of obtaining the land,” said a supply in MahaMetro.
As NMC is cash-strapped it determined to hunt price range from state executive beneath Nagar Utthan Yojana. Under this scheme the civic company would pay 30% whilst remaining 70% can be borne by the state executive. Municipal commissioner had issued a letter to NHAI on this regard. However, NHAI wants a letter from district collector assuring that executive would pay its 70% proportion. Union shipping minister Nitin Gadkari had requested collector Ashwin Mudgal to expedite the topic.

As per NHAI norms, the carrier highway besides the ramp should be 7.5m on both sides plus there should be a 1m huge footpath on both sides,” he added.
