Metro's Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar corridor opened

NEW DELHI: The 9.7-km Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 hall of the Delhi Metro's purple line was once inaugurated on Monday by Union minister of housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, at Metro Bhawan Auditorium. The line can be operational for commuters from Four.00 pm lately.

"Passenger services will commence on this section on the same day from 4.00pm," a senior reputable said on Sunday. The new section is part of the 59-km-long purple line, which spans from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar. It is part of the Phase-III of the DMRC network.

Only a 1.Four-km stretch between Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake stations remain to be related, all the rest are hooked up.


The Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 hall has 5 stations -- Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mayur Vihar Ph-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1.


Mayur Vihar Ph-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 are increased stations and the remainder are underground, the reputable said.


This segment has one interchange station Mayur Vihar Ph-1.
