Finish work on metro by January 20, Ghaziabad to DMRC

GHAZIABAD: District Justice of the Peace Ritu Maheshwari directed DMRC officials on Thursday to finish all external work on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand metro hall by January 20. These include restore of roads and central verges, painting of metro pillars and all completing work of stations.

The 9.4km metro hall is anticipated to be commissioned over the next two months. The Public Investment Board (PIB) cleared the undertaking final December and it now awaits clearance from the Union cupboard before it may be commissioned. The clearance will pave the way in which for the Centre’s share of over Rs 320 crore.


The directions to DMRC have been issued during a review meeting of the undertaking with metro officials in Ghaziabad. “The DMRC has taken over primary roads along the alignment of the metro undertaking for building of stations and the increased hall. They must restore the roads and adopt important maintenance work before handing it over to in line with the terms and prerequisites. Many stretches of roads along the hall have been mendacity in a shambles on account of the development work,” Maheshwari mentioned.


Officials mentioned no formal date for commissioning of the metro hall has been announced thus far. The hall has 8 stations from Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand.


“Repair work is pending on central medians of the principle road. Grilles on medians have been damaged at puts and have now not been repaired in spite of a number of reminders to DMRC. Theme art work on all pillars of the hall don't seem to be entire as well. There are some works pending that want to be undertaken on the metro stations,” she added.
