‘Mosquito’ in police net for stealing gold

BENGALURU: A 28-year-old routine wrongdoer, who earned the nickname ‘Solle’ (mosquito) for his habit of complaining about mosquitoes within lockups and prisons, has landed in police internet on theft charges.
G Ganganna, a resident of Hegganahalli Cross, had burgled properties in Basaveshwaranagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Yelahanka, Subramanyanagar and Kamakshipalya. West division police have recovered 500 grams of gold adorns worth Rs 15 lakh from him.

“Whenever we put him in a lockup, he would create a ruckus claiming he can’t sleep on account of mosquitoes. Many occasions, we had to buy mosquito coils to pacify him,” law enforcement officials mentioned.

Solle had skipped greater than a dozen court docket hearings.


Chain-snatchers held


North division police arrested two Andhra Pradesh-based males for snatching gold chains. Abdul Wahid alias Abdul, 21, and his associate Abbu alias Abrar, 21, are citizens of Yeshwantpur and natives of Punganur town at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. Twenty motorbikes and one gold chain had been seized from them.


“Riding on bikes they had stolen, they might target lone girls strolling at desolate puts and clutch their chains. Later, they might trip to Chittoor and promote bikes at throwaway costs,” police mentioned.
