BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the basis stone in addition to inaugurate a slew of projects price more than Rs four,500 crore when he visits Baripada on Saturday. This might be his 2nd seek advice from to Odisha inside a fortnight and presentations the state’s importance to the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Among the projects Modi is ready to release come with enlargement of National Highways, new fuel pipeline, doubling of railway tracks, a multi-modal logistics park in Balasore, conservation of the ancient Rasikaray temple and Haripurgarh fortress in Mayurbhanj and new passport seva kendras. The Prime Minister will also flag off a brand new passenger train from Badam Pahad in Mayurbhanj district to Tatanagar in Jharkhand.
Modi will lay the basis stone for four-laning of 3 primary sections of 3 National Highways passing through the state — 43.2 km of the Rimuli-Koida segment on NH-215 at a cost of Rs 828.36 crore, 104.2 km of the Singara-Binjabahal segment on NH-6 for Rs 1,313 crore and 53.2 km of the Koida-Rajmunda segment on NH-215 at an estimated cost of Rs 1,176.four crore.
The 513 km Balasore-Haldia-Durgapur segment of Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur LPG pipeline may also be dedicated to the nation through the Prime Minister. This has been constructed through Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at a cost of Rs 1,080 crore.
“The pipeline will ensure that uninterrupted LPG supply to Odisha and neighbouring states. The pipeline traverses 240 km across Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore districts of Odisha,” said P C Chaubey, govt director of south jap region pipeline, IOCL.
The railways has finished the doubling paintings on 11.3 km Chillikidara-Sagadapata line and 9 km Naranpur-Basantpur line with an expenditure of Rs 131.34 crore. The traces will attach the mineral rich spaces of Keonjhar and Jajpur districts. These two sections, which are part of the Banspani-Jakhapura doubling mission (180km), will carry minerals to Paradip port for export while at the same time offering passenger provider to the region.

The logistics park, constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore, will have a full-length rail line, two warehouses, a highway weigh bridge and different amenities. Only one passenger train has been running up to now on the line that used to be laid in 1911. He will also inaugurate passport seva kendras (PSKs) at the publish places of work in Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Aska, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal. The state already has PSKs at publish places of work in Koraput, Bhawanipatna, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Berhampur, Baripada and Balasore.
