Youths fire shots, vandalise car, issue threats

MOHALI: Four drunken youths allegedly fired pictures within the air, vandalised a car and threatened to kill a man in Purab Premium Apartments on Friday, prompting the police to arrest 3 of the accused.

Jashandeep Singh, a resident of Moga, Ishu Sharma and Akush Kumar, each residents of Rama Mandi, Bathinda, have been arrested on charges of attempt to murder, rioting, armed with deadly guns and underneath Sections of Arms Act. Simran Singh of Rama Mandi, Bathinda, is at the run.

Swapan Singh, a resident of Purab Premium Apartments, alleged the accused vandalised Chevrolet Cruze car (CH-01-AC-1360) of his friend. He alleged two of the four accused fired gunshots within the air and threatened to kill him. Later, police recovered an air gun from the accused.

Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SSP, mentioned, “The fourth accused shall be arrested quickly. The recovered weapon is an air gun however we can get it analysed at forensics division to establish its calibre.” In a video of the incident, the miscreants will also be seen brandishing the gun and challenging the complainant to come back down from his flat. Swapan, in his grievance, mentioned he has no enmity with someone.
