PUDUKKOTTAI: Former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S Thirunavukkarasar on Friday criticised the BJP for coercing the AIADMK into an alliance for the Lok Sabha elections.
“BJP is in a rush to form an alliance. But they may no longer discover a birthday party to align with them. So, they exerted pressure on the AIADMK, via compulsion and intimidation, to have talks with them over alliance,” Thirunavukkarasar informed the reporters in Pudukkottai.
He said there was a difference of opinion throughout the AIADMK whether or not a poll pact with the BJP was a important one.
He said Congress president Rahul Gandhi and common secretary Priyanka Gandhi would campaign in Tamil Nadu after the announcement of elections.
