PUNE: The Kondhwa police on Tuesday arrested a criminal, Sumit Kakasaheb Jadhav (21), and booked his accomplice for assaulting a businessman with a knife and robbing him of money Rs 2,200 at Shivnerinagar here on Sunday around 7am.
The Pune cantonment court has despatched Jadhav, a resident of Shivnerinagar, in police remand till Wednesday.
Panipuri businessman Alim Baig (29) from Shivnerinagar has lodged an FIR in opposition to Jadhav and his accomplice at Kondhwa police.
Baig in his FIR said,“On Sunday, I left my area for having a cup of tea in a close-by resort at about 7am and from there I reached a pan store for getting cigarette. Jadhav also arrived on the store and demanded cash from me, however I refused to budge into his demand. I asked him to leave where.”
The criticism read,“Jadhav once more asked Baig to fulfill his demand as he was once possessing cash, however he rejected his demand. Jadhav suddenly pulled out a knife and threatened the businessman with a knife and asked him to shell cash. Baig retaliated in self-defence and once more grew to become down his demand.”
Police said,“Jadhav in a are compatible of anger assaulted Baig on his left hand and driven him down at the street. His accomplice caught hang of his hands and the criminal robbed money Rs 2,200 from his pocket. The terrified businessman raised an alarm and a sizeable crowd rushed to the spot for helping him. Sensing trouble, Jadhav and his accomplice took to heels.”
A police crew led by means of Chetan More, Santosh Shinde, Rajas Shaikh, Yogesh Kumbhar and Umakant Swamy beneath inspector Mahadeo Kumbhar introduced a hunt for tracing Jadhav however his whereabouts were not identified.
Police arrested Jadhav after he arrived at his place of abode around 1am, following a tip-off. Police are searching for his accomplice.
