‘Return our Transport Nagar Project land back’

VARANASI: Several farmers of Bairwan village wrote letters with their blood challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make sure their land is returned to them following failure in execution of Transport Nagar venture even after 20 years of acquisition of their land, on Sunday.


Gathered beneath the banner of UP Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress at Bairwan village, the farmers wrote the letters addressed to the PM. They mentioned that their land have been got for a venture that could no longer materialize. As per the land acquisition act their land should be returned to them in one of these situation. They warned that during case of delay in enjoyable their demand they'd march to district headquarters for a decisive conflict. Earlier, on April 9, 2018 farmers affected by land acquisition process for Transport Nagar venture by means of Varanasi Development Authority had staged a an identical protest by means of submitting blood-written letters to the PMO in support of their demand. Following this protest, the VDA left this topic to the state govt for its ultimate decision at the venture, mentioned VDA vice president Rajesh Kumar citing, the decision of the federal government remains to be awaited.


According to the VDA information, the process for obtaining 86.219 hectares of land of one,194 farmers of the four villages including Bairwan, Kanna Dadi, Milichak and Mohansarai was once started in 2000 with the issuance of a notification by means of the land acquisition division.


After ultimate notification in 2001, the ownership of the got land was once given to the VDA on paper.
