Students clash on BHU campus during fest

VARANASI: Inmates of Birla A and C hostels of BHU on past due Sunday night clashed following a dispute at the ongoing varsity annual cultural fest, ‘Spandan’, at the campus, falling underneath Lanka police station. After the clash, the campus became tense when two groups of scholars indulged in brick-batting and allegedly hurled petrol bombs on every others at the hostels.


SP City Dinesh Kumar Singh mentioned, “The students of the 2 hostels clashed at the campus. The situation has been introduced underneath regulate now and police deployed at the campus to steer clear of any bother.” Reports mentioned the scholars indulged in brick-batting and allegedly hurled petrol bombs on every different after removing lights of each the hostels. Four Inmates suffered injuries and had been rushed to the Trauma Centre of BHU.


Reports added that first of all, the college proctorial board team of workers tried to contain the situation but later district administration and police had been alerted. On getting data, an extra town magistrate along side heavy police force reached the Hostel Road and cordoned it and taken the situation underneath regulate.
