Hubballi: The building that collapsed at Kumareshwar Nagar in Dharwad claimed the lives of 19 persons. But, BJP and Congress leaders are all for mudslinging over the incident and are pointing palms at each and every other.
Soon after the building collapsed final week, BJP leaders sought motion towards former MLA and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni accusing him of being liable for the incident as one of the vital companions of the building is his sweetheart's father.
Police have arrested the building’s 4 house owners -Basavaraj Demappa Nigadi of Bharatinagar, Dharwad, Gangappa Shivappa Shintri of Savadatti, Mahabaleshwar Shivappa Puradagudi of Savadatti and Ravi Basavaraj Sabarad of Shrinagar, Dharwad and architect Vivek Pawar.
Gangappa is Kulakarni’s father in-law and the previous MLA Kulkarni made it transparent that he had nothing to do with the collapsed building.
BJP’s attack on Kulkarni triggered Congress leaders to dig up extra information about the political association of the opposite house owners of the building.
Prashant Kekare, a detailed aide of Kulkarni and rural district Congress president Anilkumar Patil have posted main points of political affiliations of different accused companions. They claimed that Ravi Sabarad is a detailed relative of BJP’s Dharwad MLA Aravind Bellad while Basavaraj Nigadi and Mahabalaeshwar Puradagudi are BJP leaders in Savadatti,
They added that Shintri’s nephew used to be an lively BJP member. Hence, they claimed that lots of the building’s house owners were associated with BJP and not Congress. Since then, BJP leaders have maintained stoic silence in this subject.
Nitezens have criticized both the parties for looking to gain political mileage from the tragedy.
