Modi's Vadodara win was costlier than Varanasi's

AHMEDABAD: It might seem a tad surprising, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi needed to spend extra on his marketing campaign in Vadodara for the Lok Sabha 2014 polls in his home state than in UP’s Varanasi. Modi had filed his nomination from the 2 constituencies and resigned from Vadodara. Data presentations PM Modi had spent Rs 50.04 lakh for his election marketing campaign in Vadodara while he spent best Rs 37.62 lakh for campaigning in Varanasi.

However, relating to election advertisement in print and electronic media the expense was best Rs 43,250 and best Rs 3.31 lakh was spent on marketing campaign material like hoardings and distributing pamphlets. Sources from Vadodara said that since all the advertisements via BJP party had Modi on them, he did not spend any quantity for my part. The small quantity was best used for advertisement in local papers.

While he spent best Rs 43,250 for campaigning via print and electronic media in Vadodara, he had spent Rs 3.78 lakh for campaigning via print and electronic media in Varanasi.


Advani spent no cash on electronic or print media


Former deputy high minister and Gandhinagar MP L K Advani who spent Rs 34.13 lakh throughout his election has now not spent any cash on advertisement in electronic and print media. He has spent the vast majority of his price range for meeting with none big name campaigners. He has spent Rs 11.11 lakh on these meeting which were arranged via the local leaders. However, Advani has also spent Rs 3.73 lakh on conferences held for big name campaigners. Advani was also within the checklist of big name campaigners. Like Modi Advani also spent Rs 7.14 lakh for entertaining his marketing campaign employees.
