MP Ramesh Katti’s supporter threatens to end life

BELAGAVI: An audio clip of a supporter of former MP Ramesh Katti threatening to commit suicide if the BJP chief is denied a ticket has long gone viral.

Katti was once defeated at Chikkodi in the last Lok Sabha election and is without doubt one of the sturdy aspirants of a BJP ticket. Senior birthday party chief Annasaheb Jolle and Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore to are primary aspirants. BJP is delaying pronouncing its Chikkodi candidate due the high collection of aspirants.


When Katti’s name was once misiing from BJP’s first record of candidates, Shashikant Roloji, 29 of Sankeshwar called his chief over phone and mentioned he would commit suicide if the birthday party denies a ticket to Katti. Katti recorded the call and uploaded it on social media.


“You should be our MP. Numerous voters in the constituency love you and will vote for you. We don’t need Annasaheb Jolle. You must win. The nation is our first precedence,” Roloji instructed Katti all over the call. Lakhs of voters in Athani and Raibag taluks too need Katti to get the ticket, he added.


Katti tried to persuade him to not take any extreme step. “I'm in Bengaluru now and am trying my highest. I will succeed in getting the ticket, don’t fear. Pray for me to your circle of relatives deity”, Katti instructed his supporter.
