"Out of the first-time voters, 4,04,715 are men and 3,01,774 women. The final numbers may vary as the list is being updated. He added that a couple of selection of awareness campaigns had been introduced in the state to inspire younger voters to take part in the polls.

In addition, some 503 voters, marked below the third gender, can even exercise their franchise in Assam in the forthcoming elections, mentioned Sahu.

On Monday, the CEO, along with the metro district management, organised a 'Run for Vote' rally in which hundreds of students from quite a lot of tutorial institutes participated and encourage all, principally the kids, to exercise their franchise.

Susmit Ishfaq, a legislation student and first-time voter, is fascinated by the coming Lok Sabha polls. He is of the opinion that the LS polls have given a chance to many of us like him to be a part of the country's long run. "Dirty politics has always ignored the core issues of the state. Rather than addressing the real problems that the people face on a daily basis, politicians in the state politicize them and enagage in mudslinging. Whoever is committed to addressing the issues of unemployment, education and healthcare in the state will get my support," he mentioned.
