MYSURU: Days after officials within the Mysore Development Authority (Muda) announced that it had managed to acquire the consent of maximum farmers in Ballahalli to increase a new format within the house, a bit of ryots unwilling to phase with their farms have warned the civic company of launching an indefinite protest if it goes ahead with the land acquisition procedure. The farmers additional threatened to stop access of politicians to their village if the purchase procedure is not stopped instantly. Residents of the village mentioned that they had been contemplating boycotting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to protest the ham-handed approach by which Muda was once going about with the land acquisition procedure.
Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene on Sunday mentioned that they would launch a stir from Tuesday in entrance of the Muda office if the federal government did not drop the challenge. KRRS basic secretary Guruprasad charged Muda with trying to forcibly acquire fertile and arable land in and around Ballahalli. “The land that Muda has bought in Ramana Hundi, Birihundi, Salundi, Gouhalli, Komrabeedu, Badagalahundi, Marakyatanahalli and surrounding spaces could be very fertile. The land is being bought by way of bringing in amendments to the land acquisition legislation,” Guruprasad mentioned.
He mentioned that they would launch the protest rally from the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Mysuru Law Courts complex, and terminate it at the Muda office. “Muda officials are acquiring signatures from blameless farmers of the village by way of coercion. The farmers are being misled,” Guruprasad added.
Fuming at the silence of the elected representatives, Guruprasad mentioned that the farmers had no one to means with their woes. “This is the rationale we've made up our minds to prohibit access of the politicians into the village seeking votes for the Lok Sabha election. If they are not willing to listen to us, why should we solid our votes?” he asked.
The KRRS basic secretary alleged that those that had agreed to phase with their land had been those that had illegally bought it by means of encroachment. Local farmer leaders including Honnur Prakash had been present at the media interplay.
