Swachhata Abhiyan of Ramakrishna Mission leaves Valencia-Gorigudda clean

MANGALURU: Ramakrishna Mission Swachhata Abhiyan’s 15th Shramadan of fifth phase used to be performed in Valencia Gorigudda space on Sunday. Rev Fr James D’Souza and Anil Lobo, President of MCC Bank collectively flagged off the shramadan. Fr James D'Souza said, “The nature around us is a gift from God to us, therefore its our bounden accountability to offer protection to it in any respect cost. Already we are ruining this gorgeous nature."
Anil Lobo said, “Cleanliness will have to turn out to be a part of our daily dependancy. As we clean our body daily with due care so will have to we stay our environment clean. The feeling that this space, town, atmosphere belongs to me will a great deal assist in the success of this Abhiyan.” Fr Arun Lobo, Fr Joswin Pravin, Kuddroli Ganesh, Patrick D’Souza, Manohar Shetty, Lizy Pinto, Radhakrishna Padil, Francis Crasta and others had been present on this occasion.

Members of Team Swachh Yekkur cleaned the area in entrance of Gorigudda crematorium. Heaps of sand and stones had been removed the usage of JCB and tipper. Drains had been overfilling with rubbish and they had been removed and carefully cleaned. By preserving pots with flower crops the entire spot has been given a facelift.


Students of Nitte Physiotherapy College cleaned the street adjacent Valencia church and the footpaths. Sandip Kodikal and others removed lots of rubbish lying beside Valencia circle. The spot used to be leveled and pots of flower crops had been stored to dissuade public from littering in the spot. The stone slabs lying in the road obstructing the passers-by and vehicular movement in the 4th move road in Gorigudda had been cleared. Senior volunteers cleaned the Gorigudda road.


Volunteers visited a number of homes from door to door in Sooterpet, Gorigudda and Valencia space attaining out to about 300 households urging them to stay their space clean. Aniruddh Nayak, Suresh Shetty and others guided the volunteers. Each family used to be instructed to manage their waste and assist in the Abhiyan through preserving their areas loose from littering.


Several direction boards in Mangaluru have pale letters and don't seem to be serving the purpose. Under the Swachhata Abhiyan initiative such boards are being repainted with gorgeous fonts helping the general public. Boards in Valencia right 2d move, Gorigudda right 2d Cross, Gorigudda right 4th move had been repainted. The work of changing new seats in provider bus stand at State Bank which used to be began a couple of weeks in the past used to be resumed this week too. A couple of seats had been fastened and painted thus benefitting the passengers looking forward to the buses.


Seven swachh soch seminars had been organised in the closing week in different colleges. Shreelatha U A, Sheshappa Amin, Nivedita Kamath, Saritha Shetty, Gopinath Rao had been useful resource individuals. Ranjan Bellarpady guided the group. Till date, 48 swahh soch seminars had been organised. MRPL and Nitte institutions are sponsoring these drives.
