JALANDHAR: Jalandhar police on Monday arrested two Tanzanian ladies and seized 200g heroin from their possession in Phillaur. The accused were known as Golden (26) and Maria Sulam (28) of Tanzania dwelling in Dwarka Colony in Delhi.
SSP Navjot Singh Mahal stated police acted on a tip off and a crew, led by means of Phillaur further SHO inspector Pawan Kumar, started checking commuters near the bridge when it stopped the duo and quizzed them.
“Cops checked the handbags being carried by means of the Tanzanian ladies and located 100g heroin in each handbag,” he added. Mahal stated both the ladies have been immediately arrested and police registered a case below Section 21 of NDPS Act was registered against them.
The SSP stated that since July 2018, 19 international nationals, together with eight ladies and five males, were arrested by means of the Jalandhar police for drug peddling and 10 cases had been registered after recovery of more than 7 kg heroin.
