LUCKNOW: A early life and a five-year-old boy were charred to dying after a prime rigidity twine snapped and fell on their shanty, sparking a fire on Saturday noon in Gosainganj.
According to police, the deceased known as Jitendra Kumar (22) and his nephew Nishant (5), both residents of Shivlar, Gosainganj, were napping in the shanty. Some cattle suffered burns too.
The villagers claimed that the fireplace broke out after an overhead prime rigidity electric twine snapped and fell on the shanty, sparking a fire in the thatched roof. Police, however, rubbished the claims and said that fire broke out somehow in the thatched roof and engulfed the shanty in which the victims were napping. Villagers staged a protest and obstructed probe.
They alleged that they'd lodged a criticism in regards to the overhead twine hanging dangerously to the ability division but their criticism was not addressed. SHO Gosainganj Vijay Singh said that police were cross-checking the allegation that the fireplace broke out after an electrical twine snapped.
