Vadodara/Anand: A total of 171 scholars were awarded the post-graduate diploma program in rural management and two scholars were awarded the guy in rural management at the 38th convocation ceremony of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), on Thursday.

Chinmay Didwaniya, the topper of the batch, was awarded the celebrated Vasanthi gold medal during the ceremony presided over via IRMAs’ chairman Dilip Rath. Retired IAS officer and former leader secretary of Kerala S M Vijayan was the chief guest for the ceremony.

While praising the Amul model Vijayan mentioned, “It was one thing to be adopted as possession rests with the closing farmer. This has won importance in today’s context given the plight of farmers.”

“Rural management is one thing through which all of us wish to be frequently lobbying, now not odd lobbying but activist lobbying and it is all about transformation slightly than management,” he added. Addressing the graduating batch of students Vijayan, who has been a part of IRMA’s board of governors, mentioned that he was reasonably inspired via the work of students.
