Delhi-UP railway route up & running in 29 hours

KANPUR: The damaged up line between Kanpur Central and Rooma railway stations in Maharajpur space of Kanpur used to be restored by five.34am on Sunday, finishing a 29-hour spell of inconvenience on the Howrah-Delhi direction that is one of the country’s busiest.

Derailment of 12 coaches of the 12303 Howrah-Delhi Poorva Express early on Saturday had damaged greater than 500 metres of tracks and uprooted just about part a dozen overhead electricity poles, but even so also in part affecting the down line. But, a contingent of technical group of workers from the railways restored the direction by Sunday morning, officials said. The 12.54am twist of fate on Saturday had held up traffic on both up and down traces for seven hours. The first passenger educate to cross through the down line used to be Vikramshila Express. A goods educate had preceded it to test the signalling system.


Several trains had needed to be halted at Kanpur Central and Allahabad stations quickly after the derailment.
