Rajkot: Attracted by the smell of fish submit for drying by fishermen on their nets on the sea shore on the outskirts of Jafrabad in Amreli district, a lioness arrived there, urgent a panic button among fishermen on Sunday.
“As the fishermen attempted to shoo away the large cat, the lioness sought shelter within the close by shrubs. We had to shoot a dart with an injection at the lioness to render it subconscious. After it used to be tranquillized we took her to the animal care centre,” said a forester.
The forester said that after a thorough medical check-up of the lioness, which appeared to be five years previous, they might release it again into the wild.
