Hubballi: Kundgol taluk administration has begun restore work at the crumbling building where it has set up a polling sales space at Hirehakuni village of Kundgol taluk.
People of Hireharkuni village taluk had expressed apprehensions as two years ago the zilla panchayat had ordered that the building housing the federal government higher number one college be demolished. So they had been baffled when sales space no. 134 used to be set up in the similar building.
On Tuesday, the taluk administration began restore work of two school rooms.
Basavaraj Kattimani, vice chairman, gram panchayat, lashed out on the taluk administration for opting for the dilapidated building.
Officers stated that they can’t exchange the sales space due to technical causes and promised to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the voters.
Speaking to TOI, Kundgol tahsildar Shivanand Sagar stated, “We have employed workers to fix the roof and different portions of the room where the sales space has been set up and its adjoining room which, too, is in an overly sorry state. We have mounted the windows and doors and taken all imaginable measures to ensure the safety of voters.”
