Gorakhpur: Local BJP MLA Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal has deplored the statement of the celebration’s Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya against Mumbai ATS chief late Hemant Karkare as “deshdroh (treason)” in his tweet.
He additionally stated on Saturday that Pragya, who was a key accused in the Malegaon blast, tendered an apology only after the celebration distanced itself from the talk she had precipitated through announcing the officer who was instrumental in her arrest died in 2008 following her curse.

Earlier on Friday, Agarwal had condemned the Sadhvi’s statement and tweeted that Karkare fought terrorists without a bulletproof jacket and questioning his patriotism was shameful and itself an act of treason. “I stand through my tweet (that Pragya Thakur’s statement about Hemant Karkare was an act of treason). He (Karkare) was a courageous police officer and a martyr,” the MLA stated on Saturday.
