Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday resigned from the Bijepur assembly section, as was extensively anticipated. The seat in western Odisha is without doubt one of the two assembly segments that Naveen contested this election; the other was his traditional seat of Hinjili in Ganjam district, which he has been winning since 2000.
