WASHINGTON: Ahead of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to India next week, an influential American lawmaker has asked him to soak up the issue of higher tariff on almonds during his assembly with Prime Minster Narendra Modi.
India has announced a hike in customs tasks on as many as 28 US merchandise, together with almond, apple, pulses and walnut, in keeping with upper tariffs imposed through Washington on Indian merchandise like metal and aluminium.

Congressman Josh Harder in a letter asked Pompeo to handle new retaliatory tariffs on almonds with Modi during his assembly in New Delhi next week.
