To take on the huge backlog of over 43 lakh circumstances within the Supreme Court and high courts, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, in two letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has asked best precedence for passage of two constitutional amendments - appropriate build up within the power of SC judges which lately stands at 31 and elevating the retirement age of HC judges from 62 to 65 years.
