As the water disaster worsens in Chennai, citizens appear to be both getting out of the city on brief breaks, or postponing their go back after a vacation, or moving houses from one part of the city to another within the hope of getting higher water supply. Deficit rainfall in 2017 and a failed monsoon in 2018 have led to depleted groundwater ranges.
