AHMEDABAD: In their bid to unravel two recent murder circumstances, city crime department arrested a man Abdulwahab Saiyed, 40, a resident of Malad, Mumbai and hailing from Unjha in Mehsana. Saiyed was once held with a country-made pistol and 4 reside cartridges. On grilling him, police got here to understand of three buyers in Mehsana and Ahmedabad, who were additionally arrested with country-made pistols and reside cartridges in their ownership.
Pankaj Parmar 42 of Amraiwadi was once arrested with a pistol, Dinsesh Thakor of Visnagar with a pistol and 7 reside rounds of ammunition and Ibrahim Malek of Mehsana was once arrested with a pistol and one reside cartridge.
“In overall, we have seized four country-made firearms and 13 reside cartridges from the accused. We are wondering them as to why they purchased the weapons and cartridges,” said inspector S L Chaudhary of crime department.
Crime department officialssaid Saiyed, who migrated to Mumbai in 1996 and stayed at Nagpada is a gunrunner and is interested by severe crimes in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and North Gujarat.
“He was once arrested by Kurad police in Mumbai in a murder case. After popping out on bail he was once booked for more than a few offences of assault and gunrunning in Unjha, Siddhpur, Shahibaugh and Nagpada police stations in Mumbai. He basically used to paintings as motive force,” said inspector Chaudhary.
Crime department officers said they are interrogating the accused to find if they are interested by severe crimes. “We suspect that Saiyed might be interested by extra circumstances of selling firearms. We are trying to find his source for weapons,” said a crime department reputable.
