GURUGRAM: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has began setting up open-air gyms in 15 parks around the town. According to MCG officials, such gyms will be arrange in each of the 35 municipal wards in the town by way of April-end.
The move comes after the company in January introduced that it might arrange 50 such gyms for the general public this 12 months. “We have began installing the machines in parks of 15 wards in the initial segment. Similar gyms will be opening quickly across all wards in Gurugram,” said Ajay Kumar Nirala, government engineer, MCG.
“We are hopeful of setting up 35 open-air gyms around the town by way of the top of April,” Nirala added.
Wards where the installation paintings has already began include ward numbers 2-6, 12, 13, 15-17, 19 and 30.
The parks where these gyms will be arrange include the boosting station park in Sector 2, E-pocket park in Sector 21, Rose Garden in Sector 15, A-pocket park in Sector 23A and Gulmohar Apartment park in Sector 56, among others.
Officials said six different types of health machines will be available in all gyms, equivalent to air walkers, chest press and leg press machines.
According to officials, MCG had performed a pilot venture a few months in the past, which had gained an excellent reaction. Now that the venture has been authorized, the company has put aside Rs 90 lakh to install round 50 such gyms in Gurugram, out of which 35 will be put in in a single ward each.
MCG had arrange some open-air gyms in the town two years in the past the usage of corporate social responsibility finances, however they didn't take off, as nobody used to be assigned to maintain them.
Asked about who would adopt the maintenance of the gyms, Nirala said, “Given that many parks in the town are now maintained by way of RWAs, the gyms would automatically fall underneath their supervision.”
