JORHAT: A man died at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) on Tuesday, taking the death toll within the state's hooch tragedy to 155. JMCH deputy superintendent Manob Gohain stated, "A man hailing from Golaghat died at JMCH at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday. Another 161 patients are under treatment at the hospital and the condition of three of them are critical."
"There was no report of death from any hospital in Golaghat district on Tuesday," added Dhiren Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat.
Meanwhile, higher Assam commissioner Julie Sonowal has began an investigation and will grasp a public listening to at Golaghat on Thursday. A commentary from the district management asked individuals or organisations to depose or put up lawsuits from 10 am to a few pm on the Golaghat circuit house. A equivalent probe has been began by means of the Jorhat district management.
