Bizman dies after getting hair transplant in Mum

MUMBAI: A 43-year-old businessman died in sanatorium in Powai right here final week, inside virtually 40 hours after he underwent a 12-hour-long hair transplantation process at a health center, police mentioned Wednesday.

The businessman, known as Shrawan Kumar Choudhary, had attended a hair transplant consultation at a non-public health center at Chinchpokli in central Mumbai on March 7 rpt March 7, a police reliable mentioned.

Choudhary, a resident of Sakinaka, suffered complications soon after the process which ended at 2:30 am on March 8 (Friday), he mentioned.

Choudhary was taken to a sanatorium in suburban Powai the following day, after he advanced breathlessness and swelling in his throat and on face, the reliable mentioned.

He died on Saturday (March 9) night because of allergy within the sanatorium, he mentioned.

According to police, the businessman confirmed symptoms of anaphylaxis, a serious life threatening allergy.


Police have registered a case of unintentional death and additional investigation is underway.


In his statement, the dermatologist, at whose health center Choudhary underwent the process, mentioned the businessman wanted to graft 9000 hairs in a single move, which was towards scientific advise, the reliable mentioned.
