FAZILKA: The Fazilka district bordering neighbouring country Pakistan will likely be made open defecation free(ODF) BY November 30. Presently 132 out of total 398 villages within the district were made ODF free and work is in progress to hide the remainder villages before the cut-off date. The nodal officials and motivators appointed for the centrally backed undertaking underneath Swachh Bharat Abhiyan were directed to control the ones going within the open to answer nature' name.
They were asked to go into the fields at five within the morning for the aim of identifying persons going within the open. Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia on Thursday set out on visit at 5AM and visited villages Alamke, Laddu Uttar Wala, Gumaniu Wala, Bhamba Battu Hithar and took inventory of the progress in making villages open defecation free. She also met the villagers and motivated them to start out the observe of going inside the home by way of developing toilets.
Isha Kalia stated that "we are determined to turn the district into open defecation free by November 30. Those who have no toilets built at their houses are being told to avail the facility of the grant of Rs. 15,000 given in three instalments to construct toilets at their homes. I visited some villages early in the morning and prevailed upon people to contribute in the national project".
