CISF teams to guard Allahabad Museum

ALLAHABAD: Following a directive from the Centre, groups of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) would be deployed at Allahabad Museum to give protection to 70,000 uncommon items and artifacts from theft and vandalism. A screening device would also be installed at the museum's front to scan the property of visitors earlier than their entry into the development. The Union government's choice comes after National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the chairman, in its contemporary document termed the 87-year-old museum as "prone to vandalism".

The museum has best a few guards to give protection to the artifacts, the development and its workers from any untoward incident. Director of Allahabad Museum, stated, "A joint team of CISF guards and the museum officials will conduct a survey to assess the risk involved and find ways to secure the artifacts from of vandalism.Their focus will be mainly on crime prevention and control."
