Coimbatore: State minister of law C Ve Shanmugam on Saturday laid a foundation stone for a combined court docket advanced in Udhagamandalam in the Nilgiris district.
The state executive had allocated finances for the advanced in May. "On May 22 this year the government has allocated Rs 28.72 crore for constructing the complex that will have court rooms, a building for the bar association, offices for 49 lawyers and assistants of judges," the minister mentioned.

Earlier the minister recalled that the plan for the advanced, which used to be announced in 1996, used to be stalled due to protests via lawyers and intervention from the overdue leader minister J Jayalalithaa's executive and the perfect court docket helped to revive the venture.
The minister also mentioned 88% courts in Tamil Nadu have been functioning in their own structures.
