Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started arrangements for Chhath Pooja at Ambazari, Futala and Police Line Takli lakes.
Former ruling birthday party leader and corporator Dayashankar Tiwari and chairperson of Dharampeth Zone Roopa Rai inspected the lakes on Saturday. Tiwari and Rai, at the side of the NMC officials, first visited Ambazari lake adopted by means of Futala and Police Line Takli lakes.
A large number of North Indians perform Chhath puja at those lakes annually. The NMC makes preparations to ensure safety and security of devotees.
This year, the festival falls between October 24 and 27. Chhath puja might be carried out at the 3 lakes on night time of October 26 and early morning of October 27.
