ISLAMABAD: Co-education is not appropriate with Islamic ideas, a constitutional spiritual frame in Pakistan has mentioned, asking the government to arrange separate techniques of education for women and men on the earliest.

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), shaped as part of the 1973 constitution to lend a hand executive in Islamisation of regulations within the nation, concluded a two-day meeting the day before today.

It mentioned in a commentary that co-education was neither a requirement of society nor appropriate with Islamic ideas.

"The government must establish two women universities (in Islamabad) as announced by the former president General Zia-ul-Haq," it added.


Haq, the ex-military ruler, enacted several Islamic regulations which can be believed to have greater sectarianism and extremism within the nation.


The CII reiterated its recommendation that women do not wish to duvet their faces, fingers and feet. It welcomed a recent Supreme Court judgement that ordered the government to put into effect Urdu as the reputable language.


"While treating Urdu as the national and official language, the federal government should allow the provincial governments to adopt their languages as official languages," it mentioned.


The CII also beneficial that scholars showing for aggressive examinations will have to be allowed to answer questions in Urdu.
