Tirupur: Tirupur district superintendent of police E S Uma has directed the rural police to participate in anti-dengue measures along side the earnings and health division staff. She gave the order after the district administration sought the dep.'s lend a hand to curb dengue, stated a police officer
"Apart from the law enforcement duty, the police personnel will visit public places and households to check whether people are following anti-dengue measures. They will insist them to keep their surroundings clean to avoid mosquito breeding and create awareness about it," stated the police officer.
SP Uma advised TOI,"Police personnel have involved in the anti-dengue campaign since the last weekend. Initially, they would be ensuring that police stations and police quarters are free from mosquito breeding sites. And then, they would extend their support to the revenue and health department personnel to clean the public places and households."
On Monday, the SP has inspected the district Armed Reserve police quarters and dispensed 'Nilavembu' drink to the staff.
