Three held for forcing man to lick his saliva in Bihar

BIHARSHARIF: Police on Friday evening arrested three of the 8 accused who have been allegedly considering forcing a man to spit and lick his saliva at Ajnaura village of Ajaypur panchayat in Nalanda district on October19.

However, main accused Dayanand Manjhi, who's Ajaypur panchayat mukhia, and Dharmendra Yadav together with three others are still evading arrest, said Nalanda SP Sudhir Kumar Porika on Saturday. "They will be arrested soon," the SP said.


Police on Friday lodged an FIR in opposition to 8 named accused for forcing sexagenarian Mahesh Thakur to spit and lick his saliva after a panchayat convened at Dharmendra's place of abode on October 19 held him accountable of entering the house of co-resident Surendra Yadav to invite for 'khaini' when no male participants have been at home on October 18.


To upload to the insult, Thakur was also thrashed by way of two ladies with slippers.


After a mobile phone video of the incident went viral on the social media and was therefore aired by way of few information channels, Nalanda DM Thiyagarajan S M, SP Porika and Biharsharif SDO Sudhir Kumar met the sufferer at his village.


The DM said each assistance, including safety, can be supplied to the sufferer.
