Aadhaar helped a 14-year-old woman to reunite together with her family after she went missing five years in the past.
"We recently issued advisory to all short stay homes in the district to trace identity of the rescued children by taking the help of Aadhaar enrolment centres. Luckily this girl, Geeta Singh, was issued an Aadhaar card a few years ago. Her fingerprints and iris details matched when we took her to an Aadhaar enrolment centre," mentioned CWC chairperson (Puri) Sidhartha Roy.
CWC knowledgeable her father Raidas Singh, who stays in Kamarpur village of Soro space in Balasore district. His daughter went missing in 2012 when she was learning in Class III. She had left house due to acute poverty and went to Varanasi on the lookout for activity. Though Balasore police was knowledgeable, she may no longer be traced. She was rescued by way of railway protection power (RPF) in Varanasi two years back and was despatched to Puri. "As she was traumatised, she could not disclose her address and family details.
