BHUBANESWAR: Good news for town citizens because the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced to offer parking rest. After implementation of the guideline, a motorist or a biker won't pay a couple of times for parking his/her vehicle at a similar locality.
Now for parking in a particular house for a couple of times shall be charged once best. For example, if a person parks a vehicle at Vanivihar sq. and Rupali he has to pay best single time for parking, said a senior BMC authentic.
Out of 75 choice of parking areas in BMC house, the city body has known 5 programs reminiscent of Vani Vihar to Sriya Square, Sisu Bhavan to Sriya Square, Unit 1 haat to Kalpana house, Sum Hospital to Nayapalli Vishal Megamart house by means of Khandagiri and DD Motors Chandrasekharpur to Swosti Premium at Jaydev Vihar.
But the the associated fee structure and time of parking for these areas stays unchanged. A person parks a two wheeler for four hours can pay Rs 5, whilst a automobile proprietor must pay Rs 20 for two hours.
"We have taken this decision at the corporation meeting. We will start the project very soon after floating tender for parking areas. The new rule will be implemented by end of January," said town mayor A N Jena.
He said they took this step bearing in mind the worries of citizens on paying of parking charges for a couple of times at a similar locality. "It is a New Year gift to the people of the city," he added.
