Driver robbed of mini-truck at gunpoint

GURGAON: A Delhi-based logistic company's mini-truck driver was robbed of his car at gunpoint by way of five armed robbers near Pachgaon Chowk on Wednesday morning.


According to police, the crime happened around 9am on Wednesday when the driving force — Ashok Kumar — was heading against Bawal from Delhi to pick out up logistic items. When he reached near Pachgaon Chowk on Delhi-Jaipur national freeway, five armed robbers overtook his tempo in a red-coloured Maruti Alto and compelled him to stop. As Ashok got down from his automotive the accused came out of the car and whipped out guns pointing at Kumar. They then snatched the tempo keys from Kumar and fled the spot after pushing him down.


Kumar then contacted the mini-truck proprietor and filed a police criticism. An FIR was registered towards five accused below Section 395 (dacoity) of the IPC and 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Bilaspur police station.


"We are collecting the CCTV footage of nearby areas that will help us to identify the accused or the car used in the crime," stated ASI Hawa Singh, the investigating officer.
