NEW DELHI: BJP MP Sushil Kumar Singh instructed the Lok Sabha on Friday that thousands of aged people whose biometrics didn't match their data any longer have been dealing with bother getting pension and other Aadhaar-linked paintings achieved.
The Aurangabad MP also demanded criminal action against telecom company Airtel, alleging that LPG subsidy price Rs 190 crore used to be transferred to the corporate's account fraudulently.
"Old people are unable to get pensions since the last one year as their thumbprints and retina scan do not match," Singh instructed the House. He cited the example of his mother, who may just not get a SIM card in her identify because of problems in matching her fingerprints.
On Airtel routing LPG subsidy, the BJP MP said it used to be a criminal act. "Though the petroleum ministry has taken action, there should be criminal proceedings against the culprits," he said. Singh recommended the Centre to discover a method to the problem.
"The government should seriously think about resolving this issue," he said.
A lot of LPG customers had complained about non-credit of LPG subsidy into their bank accounts, and, on verification, it used to be discovered that these complaints pertained to these customers who have been Airtel shoppers and had opened accounts in Airtel Payments Bank.
