Hubballi: As many as 26 ladies from Unkal, Sai Nagar, Taj Nagar, Vidya Nagar, Barikoppa and Old Hubballi met Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi at his place of dwelling right here on Saturday, expressing their gratitude for the passage of the invoice against immediate triple talaq within the Lok Sabha.
They offered candies and felicitated Joshi. The ladies also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for ensuring passage of the invoice within the Lok Sabha.
Khairun Bi, one of the ladies who met Joshi, welcomed the improvement. "It is a new beginning which will protect Muslim women from the immoral practice of nikah halala," she said.
The delegation said that Muslim ladies have been deserted by way of their husbands through triple talaq. The apply also pushes ladies and their children into poverty, they said, including that passage of the invoice within the Rajya Sabha will offer protection to their rights.
Mumtaz Shaikh and BJP city district minority morcha president M H Chalmarad were also provide on the instance.
