BHUBANESWAR: The state executive on Thursday cancelled the agreement with the personal safety agency 'G5S' after its safety guard was once arrested for allegedly raping a three-and-a-half-year-old lady at Sambalpur district headquarters health center (DHH) on Tuesday night time.
K K Gupta, chief district scientific officer (CDMO), Sambalpur, confirmed that they cancelled the agreement with the protection agency. "We have asked the district administration to deploy some home guards at the hospital. Now onwards, we will examine all the aspects while signing agreement with any other security agency," he added.
Earlier at the day, well being minister Pratap Jena informed media persons here that the federal government won't allow the protection agency to work in the health center in Sambalpur. "Other private security agencies, which are providing services in different hospitals, will face same action if their employees commit such crimes. It is a warning from our side," he added.
He condemned the rape bid on a minor lady. "If I were a layman, I would have suggested that the accused security guard should be shot dead. We cannot tolerate such inhuman activities," he added.
Meanwhile, the accused safety guard Sujit Kumar Rana, 22, of Batemura beneath Dhamma police limits in Sambalpur was once taken to a local court docket. He was once arrested on Wednesday at the basis of CCTV footage and the girl's statement.
According to the police grievance lodged by way of the girl's family members, the guard had lured the minor lady prior to he dedicated the crime. The lady was once beside her mom and younger sister at the DHH. When doctor came to look her younger sister, the survivor was once informed to wait outside and the protection guard offered to deal with her. After the checkup was once over, the mother discovered her with the guard.
The incident came to gentle after the minor lady informed her mom about her ordeal.
