SAN JOSE: A airplane carrying 10 US citizens and two native crewmembers crashed in a wooded space, killing all aboard Sunday, Costa Rica's govt said.
The Public Safety Ministry posted images and video of the crash website online appearing burning wreckage of the airplane in Guanacaste, northwest Costa Rica.
Authorities said that up to now they had only a list of passengers equipped via the airline and had been anticipating official affirmation in their identities.
At a news convention, Enio Cubillo, director of Costa Rica Civil Aviation, said the Nature Air constitution flight took off simply after midday Sunday from Punta Islita and was once headed for the capital of San Jose when it crashed.
Cubillo said the reason was once under investigation.
He identified the pilot as Juan Manuel Retana and described him as very experienced. Former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla said by means of Twitter that Retana was once her cousin.
The similar airplane had arrived in Punta Islita on Sunday morning from San Jose and was once not on time in touchdown via strong winds, Cubillo said.
Nature Air didn't respond to telephone and e-mail messages.
