COIMBATORE: Three youths, who forged Bhubaneshwar primarily based Apollo Hospital physician's prescription to shop for sedative tablets from a scientific shop in Ondipudur within the city, have been arrested on Friday.
Police stated that the trio forged the letterhead of Dr Brajarajdass of Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar in Odisha to shop for the sedative tablets, which can give prime for 2 days, from the scientific shop. The youths had already purchased such tablets twice .
The arrested have been identified as K Shanmugam, 19, of Peelamedu, P Prakashraj, 19, of Vijayalakshmi Nagar at Upplilipalayam and N Jawahar, 19, of Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Ondipudur. They have been buddies and day-to-day salary labourers.
On Friday, the trio went to Somasundaram & Co medicals at Ondipudur and requested the staff for 40 tablets of Nitrazepam and 40 tablets every for pressure and diabetics. The medial shop staff alerted the Singanallur police who picked up the youths for questioning. Police also seized the prescription and contacted the physician, who advised the police that he had now not prescribed such drugs for any individual. tnn
