LONDON: It's a dream come true for tired-out-moms - a modern new cot bed which mimics the feeling of the womb to keep small children glad at evening.
The Easidream bed, invented through a British mother- of-six, Lynda Harding, has a sequence of inflatable pads which when placed under the existing bed, reduces the time to settle small children through as much as 90%.
The pads gently fill with air and then deflate again, mimicking a rocking movement. And, a cuddly toy sheep clipped to the aspect of the cot proclaims the sound of mother's heartbeat together with a selection of seems like vacuum cleaner and tune.
The movement of the pads also encourages small children to sleep on their backs, really useful as the most secure place for small children under six months previous, the 'Daily Mail' reported.
44-year-old Harding, who battled to get her youngest child Bradley to sleep as a child, mentioned: "Sleep deprivation is draining. This product would have been a godsend for me so I'd like to see it help other parents."
Now, researchers on the University of Brighton have also advanced a prototype. The product will be introduced on the Baby Show in London in October.
Jeanne Tarrant, from the Royal College of Midwives, mentioned: "Babies do respond to hearing their mother's heartbeat or white noise and it usually sends them to sleep. A rocking motion can also help. Anything that reminds them of being in the womb is useful."
