Nandankanan Zoo gets two tiger cubs

BHUBANESWAR: The Nandankanan Zoo here on Saturday got two extra tigers as tigress Ankita delivered the cubs. Their father is zoo-born Saif.
Zoo authorities mentioned with the start of 2 cubs, the tiger inhabitants there went up to 26 out of which 8 are white tigers, 16 customary and two melanistic. "The health of the cubs is being monitored through CCTV as none enters the enclosure now. Ankita is fit and she is taking care of the baby tigers," mentioned zoo deputy director Jayant Das.


Zoo officers mentioned intercourse of the cubs can't be known now. Incidentally, Ankita was born on the identical day to tigress Sara. "Ankita and Saif were allowed mating in October, 2017," zoo officers mentioned. Saif came to Nandankanan zoo from a zoo of Hyderabad.
