JORHAT: The carcass of two grownup male elephants, who've been electrocuted to death, had been present in a tea garden in Karbi Anglong district on Monday morning. The incident came about at round 3am on Monday at Dhansiri tea garden, about 25 km from Bokajan the town, underneath Borpathar police station.
Members of the woodland workforce said the elephants had visited the tea garden on the lookout for meals and got here involved with a top volt electrical cord whilst they had been returning to the woodland. "Both the elephants were adult males. Preliminary investigations suggest the trunks of the elephants touched the live wire while passing through the tea garden. They were killed on the spot," said a woodland officer in Karbi Anglong.
